Inorganic Network Glasses

Materials: Nanomaterials Composites
Application: Nanotechnology
Technique: Processing Characterization

Applications of inorganic glasses range from electrochemical components, such as solid electrolytes in batteries and glass/metal seals in connectors, found in electronic components, to various automobile applications. We are interested in understanding relaxation processes in inorganic glasses and their relation to structural (chemical bonding) features of the glass. Such relaxation processes range from slow structural and viscoelastic relaxations, which control the development of stress during processing, to ionic conductivity.
