Facilities
The laboratory is first and foremost an undergraduate facility, available for use in undergraduate courses and research projects. These facilities may also be used for outreach to the community, or for graduate courses and research, pending availability.
There are three main areas in the laboratory, each housing different types of equipment. The main room contains several characterization tools, as well as a computer laboratory with the latest materials research related software. The Furnace Room contains equipment for heat treating materials, as fabrication tools as such casting and extrusion tools. The Electronic Magnetic and Optical (EMO) laboratory contains equipment for the characterization and processing of electronic materials.
